Hallindens Granit is a modern stone company with a long history. The first quarry, Tossene Grey Bohus, was opened in 1946 by Bror Lundgren. Today, the company is owned and run by his grandchildren Johan and Jörgen Lundgren, who have taken over from their father Tage Lundgren.

Hallindens Granit is constantly working on renewal and improvement, to be able to meet the wishes and requirements of our customers. Today, Hallindens Granit delivers stone all over the world for various purposes. Swedish granite represents the highest quality and durability, qualities that are more valued than ever.
The company is based in Skarstad, Bohuslän, where its quarry, headquarters, and production facility are located. In addition to the Skarstad quarry, the company operates six more quarries across Bohuslän, Småland, and Halland.
A solid family history
Hallindens Granit’s business is based on a family history as solid as granite. Both the quarries and the company have been passed down through generations.
– Tossene was the first quarry that my father Bror Lundgren opened in 1946, as part of a quarry on Sotenäset. We celebrated our 70th anniversary a couple of years ago, says Tage Lundgren, legendary Swedish stone profile.
The company is now run by Johan and Jörgen Lundgren. Johan focuses on developing the production, while Jörgen is the CEO and responsible for sales.
Back to the future
At the beginning of the last century, Sweden was one of the world’s leading stone exporters, with its center in Bohuslän. The stone that was mined then was in demand both nationally and internationally for the same reasons as today: high quality and durability, and large volumes could be obtained relatively easily.
Hallindens Granit is dedicated to the long-term revival of the local and Swedish industrial heritage that was on the verge of being lost a few decades ago.
